Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has warned that any attempts to destabilize the country through political conspiracies will be thwarted.

Addressing a rally organized by Newa: Rastriya Mukti Morcha at Basantapur, Kathmandu, Prachanda took aim at pro-monarchist forces, accusing them of trying to exploit the current situation. “Attempts to fish in murky water will be foiled. The audacity of regressive forces will be defeated,” he declared.

He praised the Newar community’s historic contribution to Nepal’s democratic movements, calling their cultural, historical, and economic foundation a reflection of socialism with Nepali characteristics. “The history, language, culture and production of the Newar community carry the embryo of socialism in Nepal,” he said.

Prachanda also emphasized that while some of his party’s agendas were compromised during the constitution drafting process, the core principles have not been abandoned. He recounted efforts made during his premiership to uplift the Newar community, including the recognition of Nepal Sambat as the national calendar and the move to make Nepal Bhasa an official language.

Reaffirming his commitment, Prachanda vowed to continue working to preserve the culture, language, and rights of the Newar community, including their right to self-determination.
